When local shelf stacker Gregory Smith, 15, came in for his early morning Monday shift, he wasn’t expecting to be confronted with a moral quandary while replenishing the laundry detergents.
Doing his rounds in the oft isolated laundry aisle, Mr Smith came within earshot of a nearby couple who appeared to be having a heated argument.
Mr Smith said given his limited hearing due to the proximity, it was hard to make out how serious the situation was.
“It sounded a bit like they were going at it,” he told the Bugle on his smoko break.
“You never know with these troppo bogans whether they are having a full on blowout or just a minor disagreement,”
“I started sizing up objects on the shelf that I could use as a projectile if shit went down.”
The Bugle spoke with relationship expert Julie Shag, who says her specialty lies in analysing relationships in Northern Australia.
“What this young man overheard was likely nothing major,” She ruled.
“But, when a couple are willing to audibly trade barbs in a public space like a supermarket, it should set off alarm bells in any ordinary persons head that these two are no bueno.”
“My off the record professional advice to any onlookers is to A) check in on the couple and see if you can assist in any way, and B) belt the bloke in the back of the head if he appears to be acting like a cockhead.”
