A 19 year old has unwittingly won the Pilbara’s highest burnout honours last night after giving it some on the drive home from work.
Steele Kudd, 19, was flogging his white Hilux around the traps in Pegs Creek as he normally would during his commute, setting off neighbourhood dogs and easily clearing 100 decibels with the screech of his tyres.
The performative act of needlessly burning rubber and frustrating anyone within earshot was coincidentally heard by Greg Molder, a professional burnout judge at the Speedway.
The 45 year old man who judges professional hooning told the Bugle the sound of high pitched, nasally wheel spin was like music to his ears.
“I knew when I heard this kid come round Frinderstein that he had something special,” he said.
“I’ve judged a lot of incredible burnouts, but this kid sounded different – like he had no regard for others and less instincts of self preservation that I have ever come across.”
Molder managed to catch up to the hooning teen and present him with the honour of Burnout champion after Kudd had been pulled over by Police and charged with reckless driving.
Speaking to the Bugle on his walk home after his vehicle was seized, Kudd said he took great pride in the prestigious award.
“This is sick kunty,” he said at above normal conversational volume.
“Me cars getting turned into a cube but this makes it all worthwhile uce,”
“Aye, do they hand out awards for fingering? Cause I’m pretty gem at that too ad-lay.”
