You could hear the scoff from down the street as Wickham Father-of-two Tony Dimitrou, 49, reacted to his 19 year old daughter talking about RUOK Day this morning. His eyes were rolling around in his head at the breakfast table as she told him about the importance of mental health and being open with friends and family about not feeling okay.

Speaking to the Bugle, he laughed off any suggestions that the RUOK movement was having a positive impact.

“Mate, in my day, you just got a belting from Dad and took off down the street to play cricket,” He said.

“All this stopping and chatting about your feelings, you’re just building the next generation of sooks mate.”

Overhearing the conversation, his daughter Mary, 19, said it’s all part of being open with your feelings to those around you.

“Like when you watched the Ben Cousins doco Dad,” She said.

“You started bawling your eyes out during that bit when the Coldplay starts playing. That was a great example of showing your vulnerability.”

Tony froze and his eyes started darting around the room sheepishly.

“I asked you to never bring that up in front of company again, thank you.” He muttered.

“Ben Cousins was a once in a generation talent with some serious demons. You’d have to have a heart of stone to not feel anything during that picture.”

Tony promptly asked our reporter to get out of his house and never return.
