“Tell the boss I am very, very unwell.”

Today marks four days since the Dampier Sharks won the North Pilbara Football League Final by 14 points over the Karratha Falcons, claiming their fourth flag in as many years. Clearly elated, the players were keen to celebrate.

Reports are coming in thick and fast that only now are some of the players returning home from a well deserved period of hedonism, judged bitterly by their fellow teamamates for throwing in the towel only four days into celebrations.

Full Forward Mark McGriggens, 28, said it was pandemonium.

“I had to get out.” He said.

“You can only pull up after a mega one and hit the repeater so many times before your body gives out. The boys let me know about it when I was leaving, but I had to get back to normal life before I forgot how to function completely.”

Speaking to one player who was still amidst the celebrations this afternoon, Grogan Jeffries, he said it was probably time to pack it in.

“Yeah four days is a bit much to be binge drinking and wearing a toga,” He admitted.

“But no one wants to be the one to call it. So, we go again.” he sighed.

As the post match adrenaline begins to wear off and some players return back home, the effects of the bender are apparent, as ruck-rover Joel Cheedy was last spotted at his weekly Cross-Fit session sobbing uncontrollably and dual-wielding powerades.

The WAG’s of the dominant club’s players response to the prolonged celebrations have so far ranged anywhere between nonplussed all the way to hurling their shit on the street and keying their Patrol.
