“I thought it was a retro rod holder.”
Karratha’s bittersweet relationship with it’s only sporting goods outlet continues this week as their yearly clearance sale has resulted in an unfortunate outcome for the stores owner.
Colloquially known as the “One Armed Bandit,” the stores elusive owner doesn’t surface very often, but today he is due to give some poor worker a spray after they accidentally hauled out of the back store room with his prosthetic arm and slapped a SALE sticker on it.
Speaking to our reporter, the young employee described the moment in which he unwittingly sold the mans arm.
“I was racking up about 3 rod bundles for a customer and he’d also heaped in a sounder from the 1980’s, some dive weights and an airbrushed fishing shirt of a female pirate riding a Mackerel skeleton so I was under the pump to get it all out the door.”
“When he handed me the arm, we both must have thought it was just a unique, retro rod holder or some kind of smoking apparatus because neither of us batted an eyelid.”
When unloading on the employee, The Bandit abruptly stopped once he learned that the kid actually sold the prosthetic limb for a decent sum.
