Pilbara $10m Powerball Winner Buys Port Hedland

A Pilbara local Powerball winner has reportedly chosen a strange way to celebrate after taking home 10 million dollars in a huge division one win.

Overcome with emotion, the winner – who asked to remain anonymous – told the Bugle that they are already looking past early retirement and a huge holiday to the bigger plans they have for the money.

“I am currently in talks with the Town of Port Hedland to acquire the town and all its assets and infrastructure,” they said.

“I’ve already blown about 6 million on houses, holidays and booze – but I’m still expecting quite a bit of change from this transaction.”

When asked what the motivation was for the bizarre request, the winner told the Bugle that the reason was simple.

“I’m gonna burn that dump to the ground and piss on the ashes,” they said bluntly.

“It will be worth every penny to see that twisted steel shithole come to an end once and for all,”

“I will give residents plenty of time to relocate and will even assist with funding their evacuation from that hell-hole.”

Town of Port Hedland officials declined to comment given the ongoing nature of the transaction but mentioned off the record that both council and the executive team are extremely receptive to the deal and cannot wait to leave themselves.

Surrounded by family and friends, all still riding high off the incredible win – they all became slightly frustrated when they realised that they would not be receiving any money, but quickly came around when they heard that the money was going to a good cause.

“Yes, I am a bit down that I won’t be getting a Lamborghini,” said the winners brother Peter.

“But in the grand scheme, it’s a better call to bring an end to Port Hedland once and for all – it’s an absolute wretched pigsty and the only remedy is the cleansing drench of a B-52 carpet bombing.”
