The rumour mill in Karratha is bubbling away this week as fresh reports emerge that local single mother of three, Fiona Sawmill, 34, must be selling gear on the side.
The indirect accusations are based on the fact that Ms. Sawmill works as a hairdresser yet somehow manages to afford Pilbara rents and support the healthy development of her children.
Even close friends, like Matthew Grodge, told The Bugle that while he respects the trade of a hairdresser, surely there can’t be too much coin in it.
“I know women pay a lot to get their hair cut; [as a bald man] I would regard it as extortionate,” he said.
“But still, her kids are walking around in flash clothes, and she always has the latest BMW X3. I couldn’t even manage that, and I’m on silly mining money.”
When approached for comment, Ms. Sawmill promptly wound up the illegally dark-tinted windows on her X5 and sped off. The Bugle later received a brick, hurled through our newsroom window with a collage-font letter wrapped around it advising us to “tread carefully.”
Upon hearing that Ms. Sawmill might have large cash reserves due to illegal drug dealing, Bart Parsons was seen increasing his prices.
