A local whack-job and Vladimir Putin sycophant, who also happens to be paid $40,122 a year by ratepayers to vote on their behalf on the Hedland council, has doubled-down on his smooth-brain philosophy and decided this month he’ll rail against COVID vaccines.
Apparently bored with spouting random shit about Putin, Councillor Adrian McRae has used what little time council gets a month to discuss issues important to locals – like roads, or rates, or anything at all that actually affect the good Hedland people – to talk about something way outside his jurisdictional and – even further outside his – intellectual boundaries.
In an exclusive chat with the Bugle, Cr McRae said he had grown tired of his last conspiracy theory and decided this week to set his eyes on what was one of – if not the – the most successful international medical collaborations in world history: the worldwide effort of thousands of scientists of different backgrounds, races and religions to create an overwhelmingly safe vaccine in response to a new and (to certain at-risk groups including the elderly and immunocompromised) deadly virus.
“Everyone knows the COVID-19 vaccine was a botch job,” he said with the confidence of a high school student entering exams without a day of study behind him, but full of self-belief that whatever bull crap he dreamt up last night is stronger than the overwhelming weight of evidence readily available in books, magazines and online.
“I’ve listened to enough Joe Rogan and watched enough 15-minute YouTube documentaries to know we are the victims of an intentional poisoning by martians, lizard people or woke martian lizard people.”
Whilst attempting to introduce the wildly irrelevant misinformation into a local government Council Meeting, Mayor Peter Carter was quick to tell him to shut his uneducated, Soviet loving mouth.
“I have kept tight-lipped for many of your rants about the Kremlin, but I can bite my tongue no longer,” Cr Carter said.
“Just neck up you mouth-breathing clown and let’s see if we can get back to approving some of these new roads and footpaths, eh?”
Upon being shut down, Cr McRae let out a deep sigh and started mumbling USSR curses under his breath.
Martin Worthington, Head of Psychology at Curtin University told the Bugle that he has seen this kind of oppositional, contrarian behaviour before.
“It can be common for people to become captured by conspiracies,” He said.
“Usually, we see it in disaffected youth with little to no education, so it is surprising to see someone who looks to be in their fifties being attracted to this kind of ideology.”
“I also note that it is quite strange for an adult man to have posters of the president of Russia topless on horseback pinned up in their bedroom.”
