As part of an overarching plan to beautify Western Australia, Premier Roger Cook has made the correct albeit difficult decision to finally throw out that old town that has just sat there gathering dust for ages.
Keep Australia Beautiful Week (August 5-11) is a great opportunity for Australians to get out and give the country a good tidy, and the State Government has answered the call that so many have put forward for decades, with Roger Cook making the announcement to finally bin Port Hedland at a press conference.
“Thank you all for gathering here today,” He said.
“From this moment on, The entire town of Port Hedland will be rezoned as landfill.”
“Judging from vision of the area that I have just viewed, not much will have to be modified for these changes to take effect. Thank you.”
Town of Port Hedland Mayor Peter Carter said it has been a long time coming
“Have you seen the main drag recently? or anytime in the last decade? I’ve seen cleaner long drops on the Gibb than our city centre.” He said.
Residents of the Town of Port Hedland have been given the ultimatum to move to a more desirable location i.e. anywhere else in Australia.
