“I came up here for peace, instead I was haunted by my past.”
Local weekend warrior Holly Smith has this morning had her peaceful, hang over healing hike up the picturesque Karratha hills completely ruined, shortly after reaching the peak.
Looking out across the vastness of Karratha and surrounds, one spot in particular hits her retinas like a laser beam. The Evolution Lounge Bar carpark, where not even six hours earlier she was on all fours having a shouting match with the asphalt, depositing equal parts cheeseboard accoutrements and red bull vodka.
“What do they call it when you can feel what you see? Synesthesia?” She groaned.
“Seeing Evo’s, even from here, I could instantly taste Lychee flavoured vape and cheap rum.”
After a few dry heaves and a half-hearted commitment to never drinking spirits again, she promptly made her way back down the hills and made a bee line for the golden arches.
